Facebook Home has become available on more
Android devices this week with flagship HTC and Samsung models
reportedly able to add the skin
Facebook Home was launched last month
on one dedicated handset and four existing models. Reports are now
suggesting the social network has quietly made its skin available for
the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4.
The evidenced surfaced as Facebook apparently made changes to its
Google Play app after a small press conference in Silicon Valley where
it announced that Facebook Home had hit the 1 million installations mark.
If you load the app from a Galaxy S4 you're greeted with the option
to "Use Home Anyway" or continue on to regular Facebook. The HTC One is
apparently able to load up Home without the option.
Both the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One were listed as supported devices
when Facebook unveiled Home last month, but until now the launcher
wouldn't run on the handsets.
Facebook Home was limited to the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when it launched, as well as the dedicated HTC First handset.
Unfortunately, the response so far has been rather lukewarm. The app
currently holds a two-star rating on Google Play with users criticising
various aspects of the software.
