Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware with “Most Battery Efficiency” and Wi-Fi Bug Fixes



An all new firmware has been released for the Samsung Galaxy S3 running the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, and once applied, it fixes the Wi-Fi bug issues on the previous Android version and it also reported to have better battery life compared to the last firmware.

Read and follow the instructions carefully to prevent damaging your device. Developers and sources are not responsible for any error which may occur on your phone. Do this at your own risk.

 Requirements:

1.      Create a backup of all your data files and personal information on the Samsung Galaxy S3. Do this manually.
2.      Enable USB debugging mode on your phone. Go to "Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging."
3.      Make sure that the battery level is at least 50 per cent.
4.      Download the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware and the Odin Tool to your computer.
Flashing Instructions:
1.      Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S3 and reboot it into Download mode. After the device vibrates once you turned it off, press and hold the Volume down + Home keys to boot into Download mode.
2.      Connect the device to your computer using a USB cable.
3.      Launch the Odin tool.
4.      The ID:COM part inside the Odin tool should turn blue or yellow indicating successful connection. Otherwise, install the proper USB drivers on your computer.
5.      Extract the downloaded firmware to another folder on your computer.
6.      Go back to the Odin tool, click on the "PDA" and select the ".tar" file.
7.      Select "Start" and do not change anything inside the Odin tool.
8.      It will take around 3 to 4 minutes to finish updating your device.
9.      Once the update is complete, the phone will automatically restart.
10.  Disconnect the device once it reaches the home screen.
Well done! Your Samsung Galaxy S3 is now running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with UI changes, Galaxy S4 apps and bug fixes.
In case you get stuck with boot loop sequence, remove the battery and reinsert it back then follow the instructions again.
